Mountain Fit Amsterdam

Climbing Training for adults

Mountain Fit training is a weekly training in which you can work on personal training goals with other climbers. You will be guided by one of our enthusiastic and experienced sports climbing trainers. During the first training, the trainer will look at your starting level together with you and on that basis you will receive weekly assignments that focus on improving technique, strength, tactics and mental aspects.

For Whom?

If you happen to have just finished the introductory course, this is an ideal next step. You immediately learn the right basic techniques and you also come into contact with other climbers; always handy if you don’t have a training buddy. If you have been climbing for a while and/or get stuck at a certain level, the Mountain Fit Amsterdam is also an ideal way for you to learn more about climbing and to take that next step. We have come up with four training components that we can work on: physical, mental, technique and tactics. More information? Look here for a brief explanation of the training components. Of course you can also contact us for more information, or sign up for a trial training!

When?

Lindy is available every Tuesday from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm to work with you on your personal training goals in the climbing hall. During the first training he looks with you at what you want to achieve and especially how you can achieve it. The focus on Tuesdays will mainly be on technical and tactical training. Think of basic techniques, reading, flow and more.

David is available every Thursday from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm to work with you on your personal training goals in the climbing hall. He is happy to look at your specific wishes with you and see how you can achieve them. The focus on Thursdays will mainly be on physical training. Think of strength, power, strength endurance and more.

WHAT?

Physical
When we talk about physical training, it is often about training endurance, speed, strength, flexibility and coordination. The trainer helps you learn how to train and together you can  take a look at your  training schedule.

Technic
It often starts with learning new movement patterns or unlearning movement patterns that are less efficient. You can only move effectively and efficiently if you can link several techniques together and thus climb through a route “in flow”. The techniques that we will cover include: foot placement, use of the body’s center of gravity (LZP), frontal vs diagonal movement, optimal loading of grips, standing on friction and much more.

Mentally
Everyone can imagine the mental training component. You must have experienced an exciting moment. Maybe the first time climbing, belaying, falling or your first real free fall while making a lead climb fall. This limit is in a different place for everyone. If you want to continue to develop yourself, it is important that you always take a step further and this means that you always have to step outside your “comfort zone”.

Tactics
Do you always just step into the route or do you make a plan in advance? When we talk about the tactics training component, it is often about reading in and visualizing, knowledge of climbing holds, time management, pace during climbing, a certain intellectual approach, problem-solving ability and so on. In addition to the experiences you gain in your climbing career there are of course also all kinds of tricks to be able to see better and better what the intention is. The sports climbing trainer can tell you all about this during the training sessions.
