Climbing at Noardwand as a student

A good balance between mental and physical activity is important for optimal performance. That is why we charge special rates for students:

Student off-peak subscription

Are you studying in Leeuwarden and would you like to come climb or boulder at Noardwand? Mountain Network offers you a membership for €47.50 per month. This allows you during off-peak hours; to come and climb during the week from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Student unlimited subscription

If you want to come every day and whenever it suits you, you can also take out an unlimited student membership. This costs €55 per month. With this membership you can use all the facilities we have to offer 7 days a week, during Noardwand’s opening hours.

Climbing is a complete workout for your body. It helps improve your cardiovascular health and coordination and helps you build muscle. You will also be challenged mentally, but probably in a different way than during your studies! Good physical condition and an exciting way to deal with challenges are skills and qualities that you gradually learn while climbing. These will certainly benefit your learning process. So that’s a bonus!

And where better to climb than at the most modern climbing center in Friesland; where you can climb, boulder and relax in our cozy mountain sports café! In the summer you can also climb on our outdoor wall, which is festively opened every year. We have an active climbing community and organize fun events throughout the year.

* The exception is the RijnBoulder subscription, this subscription also gives access to the bouldering and training facilities at other locations, but not to the climbing facilities. Do you also want to climb at other locations? Then you can take out a subscription for the climbing hall in Arnhem or convert your RijnBoulder subscription to this climbing hall.

The terms and conditions of the student subscription are as follows:

– Only for full-time students between 18 and 24 years old.
– Only for students from Leeuwarden from the schools: NHL/Stenden, Van Hall, Campus Fryslân and Friese Poort/Friesland College Leeuwarden
– Membership is concluded for a minimum of 3 months (standard membership conditions)
– Show proof of registration or a valid student card (date of school year and name) at the counter

Climbing center Noardwand is located in Leeuwarden. Noardwand is one of the few climbing centers in the Netherlands that offers all three Olympic disciplines under one roof: lead, speed and boulder. In addition to the many extras that come with the subscription, the free Basic Climbing Course is also included (with a value of € 110.00)! With this course you can obtain your climbing certificate from the NKBV and you can go and climb in all Dutch climbing halls.
