Learn the basics of lead climbing
This course is aimed at teaching participants to lead climb in a climbing gym. You will be taught the basic principles of safe and responsible lead climbing. During this course, your instructor will discuss subjects including rope handling, belaying a lead climber and practicing falling.
Lead climbing is quite different to top rope climbing. There’s nothing quite like climbing above your last piece of protection and falling several metres for the first time. It requires you to rely even more heavily on your understanding of your equipment and your belaying skills. If that sounds interesting, then don’t wait. Sign up for our Indoor Lead Climbing course and take the next step in your climbing career. It’s an absolute must for climbers who dare to push themselves even further.
An exam will be held during the final lesson and if you perform well, you will receive your NKBV Indoor Lead Climbing Proficiency Certificate.
You may participate in this course if you have successfully complete our Climbing Technique Course 1 or can demonstrate a comparable level of ability.
Once you have successfully completed our Indoor Lead Climbing course, the next logical step is outdoor climbing. In addition to indoor courses, Mountain Network offers outdoor courses at our location in the Ardennes. Why not follow our Introduction to Rock Climbing course or move on straightaway to outdoor lead climbing?
